Association in the title of the London Psychogeographical Association (see LPA Home Page) is to be understood in the sense of 'word association' within in the context of a lettrist geography. According to this process, places are associated with particular letters. As a person moves around a certain terrain they activate the letters to produce words. The LPA has been applying techniques of word association, overlayering this with their own sojourns accross London.
